MOTHERS
When faced with death, there were only a few things I thought of.
The truly important things. My mother was one of them. I remember begging God for another day so I could see her.
Funny enough, that let me know how important she was to me.
It’s not that day anymore and it’s depressing how I seem to get sidetracked, able to ignore what is important in lieu of some nonsense.
Mothers on the other hand don’t wait for that moment. They aren’t distracted.
Mothers are in a constant state of love and concern for their kids EVERYDAY. (The mothers I know at least).
I’m not sure if there is a more selfless human experience one could have.
While I am thinking that maybe God heard my prayers, and allowed me to see another day (that day), if I’m being honest,
It’s more likely that God and Moms have a waaaaay stronger relationship and God was answering my Mom’s prayers..
Maybe it’s her constant prayers that save me on a daily basis.
I mean, I can only imagine the sacrifice of a mother can only be reciprocated by God’s Grace.
It’s a shame the way we let life and our distractions get in the way of the reality of what mothers are for us.
So today we focus on being a little less distracted.
Don’t want to wait til it’s too late to be asking for God to give you another day.
You got today.
Every day is today.
