the mediations expressed in stippling (…) of the artist, ananta that express beliefs, thoughts, concepts and ideas that have been essential to understanding this human experience. as art is finished in the beholder’s eye/mind, these meditations are made with the intent to pay forward any information the artist has gained throughout Being as a collaborative effort to make and leave our world a bit better than we found it.
EVERY PIECE IN THE ELLIPSIS SERIES IS A MEDITATION ON PATIENCE, TOLERANCE AND DISCIPLINE.
TAKING THE PRINCIPLES OF APPROACHING SPIRITUAL LIFE AND APPLYING THEM TO AN ARTISTIC PRACTICE ALLOWS ONE TO APPROACH ART AS A RELIGION.

Ellipsis works are, in nature, performance art in which there is equal importance placed on the process as well as the result.
It is my meditation of sitting with myself in a practice to develop patience and tolerance, through an exercise to strengthen those muscles (of patience and tolerance) so that I can extend these virtues to others.
While I have practiced mantra meditation for my entire life, I endeavor to extend this exercise of meditation to other aspects of my daily practices.
I also endeavor to make ellipsis art with others. It is said that it is easier to capture the wind with one’s hand than it is to take hold of the mind. Better to occupy the mind with something that can benefit our being, than to waste these opportunities to interact with ourselves.
